Brother Gary Cregan, who was the principal at St. Anthony’s for 16 years and oversaw one of the school’s largest expansions, announced his immediate resignation and replacement this week.

In a letter to parents, the school said that Cregan “asked for and received permission to resign as principal of Saint Anthony’s High School effective immediately.”

“Brother Gary feels that it is necessary to resign for personal and medical reasons. We are grateful to Brother Gary for his 16 years of service as principal.”

The school said that Cregan “expressed his delight in knowing that Saint Anthony’s will be in great hands.”

To replace Cregan, St. Anthony’s has hired Brother David Anthony Migliorino, who was the principal of Notre Dame Regional High School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Migliorino is also a member of the General Council of the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn.
